EMBRYO TRANSFER

WHAT IS EMBRYO TRANSFER (ET)?

We can breed your embryo donor mare (the posh  mare) and 8 days later we flush the early embryo from her uterus and transfer it by non-surgical embryo transfer (ET) into the healthy uterus of a recipient (surrogate) mare.

ADVANTAGES OF ET:

DISADVANTAGES OF ET:

WHAT RESULTS CAN WE EXPECT FROM ET?

• Embryo recovery rate depends on the fertility of the mare and stallion
• More than 80% embryos survive after transfer
• Our embryo packages allow up to 3 cycles per pregnancy
• Frozen embryos produce > 60% pregnancy rate after transfer

Woohoo! Our first ICSI pregnancy in New Zealand - scanned in foal today! This is very exciting for NZ breeders and a great story. This incredible fertility treatment allows us to pick up one sperm and inject an egg to make a baby foal. We then froze the embryo until we had a perfect surrogate mare ready (well done Pinkie!) and today we have a 15 day pregnancy...can't wait for the next chapter! Thanks to the mare, the mare's owner, the EquiBreed NZ team and my family for making this dream possible on so many fronts!
